Fall Final Essay Continued........

As I left off on Friday......... I will continue the rest here....

They are not the same because a role of a student differs from a role of a poet. For example, a poet's job is to let others know his feelings and his way of thinking. A role of a student is to do one job! Well one job that consists of varies of jobs, making their parents proud, getting good grades, studying, doing their homework, etc... Everything in life is what you want it to be. A poet's job is intrinsic because everything comes from it's in.
In conclusion, everything in life is different no matter what they might seem alike in. Everything can change the way a person thinks or acts. A poem can be an impact in a persons life, while other might not know about it. A poets job is really powerful and impacting in a way. It can change a person life, with just a little use of words.

SOMETHING INTERESTING

I was in class today and I finished my work. I had nothing to do so I just started looking around the class looking at every person writing. I noticed that everyone was writing with their right hand, which is really common. I realized that I was the only person in that class that was left handed. I always wonder why not many people are left handed and most of them are right handed. I tend to feel special because of that, no lie. I did some research on left handedness and I found, "Between 10-12% of people on earth are “lefties," which is quite interesting. That's something interesting from today!

WHO UNDERSTANDS ME BUT ME

Who Understands Me But Me
By Jimmy Santiago Baca

They turn the water off, so I live without water,
they build walls higher, so I live without treetops,
they paint the windows black, so I live without sunshine,
they lock my cage, so I live without going anywhere,
they take each last tear I have, I live without tears,
they take my heart and rip it open, I live without heart,
they take my life and crush it, so I live without a future,
they say I am beastly and fiendish, so I have no friends,
they stop up each hope, so I have no passage out of hell,
they give me pain, so I live with pain,
they give me hate, so I live with my hate,
they have changed me, and I am not the same man,
they give me no shower, so I live with my smell,
they separate me from my brothers, so I live without brothers,
who understands me when I say this is beautiful?
who understands me when I say I have found other freedoms?

I cannot fly or make something appear in my hand,
I cannot make the heavens open or the earth tremble,
I can live with myself, and I am amazed at myself, my love, my beauty,
I am taken by my failures, astounded by my fears,
I am stubborn and childish,
in the midst of this wreckage of life they incurred,
I practice being myself,
and I have found parts of myself never dreamed of by me,
they were goaded out from under rocks in my heart
when the walls were built higher,
when the water was turned off and the windows painted black.
I followed these signs
like an old tracker and followed the tracks deep into myself
followed the blood-spotted path,
deeper into dangerous regions, and found so many parts of myself,
who taught me water is not everything,
and gave me new eyes to see through walls,
and when they spoke, sunlight came out of their mouths,
and I was laughing at me with them,
we laughed like children and made pacts to always be loyal,
who understands me when I say this is beautiful?

Thoughts: As I read through this poem, all of thoughts were going through head! How can people think this way? How big of an imagination

THOUGHTS ABOUT TODAY'S ESSAY

As I walked into my second period today and saw "essay," I felt something fall on me. I sort of knew that we were going to be having an essay because not many people update their blogs. I sort of felt confident because of how many times I read the poem yesterday and the notes I took. It helped guide me throughout the whole thinking and writing process.

About the essay: the prompt of the essay was not bad at all. I was actually able to do an outline in my head (I didn't write all of it on my paper) that helped me. It was easy to think about Baca's attitude towards life, learning, and prison. He was really straightforward on what the point he was trying to make get to us. I think one of the reasons I didn't struggle as much, is because the poem got to me and can somehow connect to it.

Final thoughts: I hope I actually did good as I think😂

POEM DISCUSSION

Immigrants in Our Own Land

Jessica Parra's blog entry about the poem is similar to my thoughts towards it. As I read the first sentence, I just pictured myself saying that exact same thing. We have similar opinions and thoughts towards the poem. It does talk about immigrants how they come to the United States for a better future and life, but all they get to realize is pure disappointment.

Theme: Freedom, but it changes to change
Tone: Explaining from a point a view, mono tone
Mood: Believer in the beginning, but throughout the poem it changes to disappointment
Devices: Metaphors

1st Stanza
- he describes their travel to their own land
-immigrants view as if they are coming to a new place
-different jobs they were able to do in the country they came from, but won't be able to do it in the new place they just arrived
-opportunities fading away, as they move somewhere else

2nd Stanza
-the immigrants that came to the new world are warning the new people who are coming in
-they are letting them know that they have been tricked
-instead of having better opportunities than they expected, they get sent to miserable low paying jobs
-they came to the new world expecting something better from where they came from
-racism
-people sticking with their own kind of people

3rd Stanza
-came to the new world for a better life and to get away from dictators
-get treated better
-got treated the same or worse in the new world
- they are slowly dying inside and out

4th Stanza
-live in very poor conditions
-they are living the same way they used to live back in their hometown

5th Stanza
-in need of things
-didn't have much money
-new immigrants arriving hoping for a better life
-hearts full of dreams that will eventually not come true
-new people with the same expectations as the old immigrants had before they were introduced into reality

6th Stanza
-realization of things
-the world they used to live in was much more better than the new world
-their dreams are crushed, not any slight chance that they will come true
-nothing is the same after, the world they used to live in it doesn't exist now
-everything that they have been through has changed

Final thoughts: All this has made me realize that everything in life isn't as bad as we think. We might think that something in life is better than what we are living or we have. We say things sometimes without knowing how they really are, or might turn out to be. We must appreciate what we have because if we don't, then it might be too late later in life. Our expectations aren't always what we think they are, so lets not take for granted the life we are living right now. This poem speaks out to many people out there in the world. I just really like this poem because it caught my attention by the way it made me think.

MY MAD DREAM OF AN ESSAY

Remember that time you ate that spicy enchilada just before you went to bed on the night before the big football game?  Oh, that weird dream you had about the 2016 presidential election.  When you woke up you couldn't quite remember the small details, but after reading "On Self-Reliance" and "A Sound of Thunder" it's all coming back to you now.

The dream started badly.  You were in line with your family at a fast food restaurant waiting to be sent to the grocery store.  Everywhere you looked there were posters of president-elect Donald Duck, looking like a crazy monkey who could eat a whole lot of bananas.

Suddenly, there was Ralph Waldo Emerson telling you, "Nothing can bring you peace but the triumph of principles."  You realized that you have something to contribute to the world so you decided to dance.  But it wasn't easy.  First you had to put on a fancy outfit and shoes and then you had to make a pizza to go back in time to the fair so you could convince people to learn about the candidates and that everyone is the same no matter what race they are.

But right there in the fair there was a giant turkey and it started gobbling at everyone.  People started to scream.  You grabbed a radio from a nearby stand and yelled stop the racism.  Everyone stopped and listened, so you kept going.

Some choices we make in this moment can benefit us or damage us right now or later in our future. In life, we sometimes tend to make decisions that we know are right or that seem beneficial at the time. We don’t always see the negative stuff in things until it affects us. We all I know, well I think, that the choices we make right now will lead us to the future we are headed. When we make choices we might not imagine how it might lead us or affect our future. All decisions have a good and a bad outcome that we might not know at the moment. Good choices are those whose outcomes meet our expectations and bad choices are those who don’t whose outcomes don’t meet our expectations. Our actions might not be as smart and mature sometimes, but whatever we do we can’t change it when it’s done.
When I make choices, I usually think twice before I say what I’m going to do, say, want, or receive, also it can be the opposite, it can be something that I don’t want to do, say, want, or receive. Being smart and wiser will probably bring you better results than just not thinking and doing things without looking at the negatives first. We always have to be wise in making decisions. My actions create my individual self because the way I think and act, in a good way of course. For example, last year I made the choice that I was going to take the challenge and risk to raise a market show steer for the Santa Barbara County Fair. It was a risky and brave choice that I made that day last year, which I knew was going to be challenging but fun at the same time. This choice I had made was going to decide on how my future was going to be like.  Who would’ve known, that that choice would’ve made a huge positive turn in my life. It was probably one of the most important choices that I don’t regret at all. It was challenging, dangerous, and life risking, but it was fun and unforgettable. I made so much memories that would last a life time. That choice I made changed my life that I decided to raise another market show steer this year. With some experience under my belt I would know how to make this experience better and unforgettable, just like last year. The memories will make will last a lifetime.
Ralph Waldo Emerson once said, "Nothing can bring you peace, but yourself." It really is true what Emerson said. Nobody else knows what makes you happy, but yourself. Only you know what you can do and not do. That’s how life works, that’s why your choices will lead you to your future. Emerson says to not rely on other people to do the stuff for you, or for them to tell you what to do. No person is going to live your life their own way. We have to make choices that will benefit us and not think about what others think. If we rely on others do tell us what to do, then we might not live life as much as we would like to and regret it later in the future. Many of us don’t make our own choices because of fear of what others might think about you. We are too scared to do things because we don’t want to feel left out. We want to fit into society, when in reality, not fitting with society is way more important. Being the same as others is way too boring. If we’re all the same then this world would be so boring, there will no reason for us to live if everything we’re going to see is going to be the same. We can be the change in this world if we make our own choices. The future can be a better place if we make ourselves better first by not depending on others, which is exactly what Emerson says throughout his whole essay. If you want to see a change in this world, then you should step up and do something about it. In my opinion, the first step will be to make your own choices to lead you to your next step. We are allowed make our own choices because we only know what they will benefit us with.
Ray Bradbury once said in this essay “A Sound of Thunder,” “What sort of world it was now, there was no telling.” Imagine living in a world that we don’t even know what’s going on. This is where our choices come in. If we don’t really make wise choices, then we might not know what this world would be like. Choices in this world determine our future, like literally. Bradbury makes it really clear in his essay how we the choices can change the results of the future. One single change can change everything. We never see the real things in stuff until it affects us in a way. We don’t always know what the right or wrong choices are until we take them and see the results. There are times when we know what the right choice is and what the wrong choice is. There’s also times that we don’t know at all because we don’t really look at it closely. No matter what choices we make in life, there will be no way we will be able to change them.

In conclusion, choices play an important role in everyone’s life. Without choices life will be so boring and plain. Our choices are what make up our future and our life interesting along the way. So, try to always make the right choices that way your future will be amazing!!

EMERSON'S CHILD

Emerson said,”Every heart vibrates to that iron string.” So little use of words have a very big meaning. Every person in this world is different in many ways and that's what Emerson tries to tell us in his essay. The closer we look at things the less chance we have to get a better perspective towards things. We need to learn how to appreciate the things and people that surround us, but most importantly learn how to appreciate ourselves. We shouldn't be afraid to express ourselves in this world, even though it might seem scary at times.
Emerson has this special way of thinking and speaking. Based on his Self-Reliance essay, the way Emerson would view the 2016 Presidential Election is all lies. He wouldn't be on either side, Hillary or Donald. He would be glad that they are speaking what they feel and say their opinions out loud. Both candidates say what they think and aren't afraid of what others think. For example, Donald Trump said a lot of crap regarding to immigrants without caring what others think. He would suggest that us as individuals should say what we feel. To not keep anything to ourselves, there are people out there that will listen and not judge you. This world is free to say our opinions out loud. As a community, we should work together to do what's better for us. We should not take things at a whole different level, we should just say what we feel. For example, right now as a community some are going out and protesting because they don't agree with what is happening right now in this world and then there's other people that are getting out of hand.
Emerson would suggest that we learn in our own unique way that we understand in order to pursue our goals. We can't learn the same way as others. Every person in this world has their unique way of learning. We should learn not only the good things but also all the other things there is in this world. In order to be aware of everything we need to know how this world functions. The way he would view our school and career aspirations is in a very different way than others would. He would see us as chicks who are too afraid to hatch out of it shell. Everyone in school don't have the courage to be themselves. They might be too timid or scared to be who they truly are. He would suggest everyone in the high school to do what they want to do, no matter what others think. Everyone in this world is free to know what they want and go for it. Nothing is better in life than to chase your own dreams. Your life is only yours if you make it yours. No one can tell you what to do or what not to do. They're not the ones who are going to live your life for you, so go ahead and choose your path. That's what I think Emerson would say to every single one of us. He would see us going into big careers, careers that will make us someone in life. That will only happen if we actually decide to hatch from our shell. He would tell us not to rely on others and to go ahead with our decisions. This world was meant for people to express what they feel and say what they want.
Emerson's essay is basically about, "be yourself." All that is said is telling you to be yourself. His way of putting things makes it so simple to do it, but in reality it's not. It's not easy to be yourself in a world where everyone tries to put you down every time they see you rising to the top. When Emerson says "yourself" I think he is meaning you as a person. In my opinion, he is trying to grab your attention by saying "yourself." He believes that you "yourself" can make something happen in this world. To be yourself is not that easy as it might look like. Being yourself in this world is a challenge to most, either you accomplish it or you don't. It's an obstacle in life that you have to overcome. When others aren't looking, we tend to be a whole different person and bring out that inner you. We don't act the same when we are with someone as when we are alone. We do stuff that we don't do around others because we know that we won't be judged. We can only be our true selves when there aren't others around to watch and judge, well sometimes. Our true nature is what we do when no one else is watching. Expressing ourselves in this world is not easy, even though at times it might seem like it isn't. We think and feel many things, but sometimes we don't say them out loud. Our thought and feelings need to be heard by others but we're just too afraid to say them. For the same fact that others judge. All we want from this world is for people not to judge and let us be who we truly are. We can't keep on hiding our true selves no more. Emerson can be used as an inspiration to a person's everyday life. We never know what he can impact in a person's life.
In conclusion, all little things have a big meaning to them. We need to learn how to be more open minded and confident. If we really want to get somewhere in life, we have to hatch from our shell and be who we truly are not caring what others think or do. Others won't get us through life, only you as yourself will. We should take in all of what Emerson said and let's not rely on others. We were born into this world to be unique and stand out, not to be like everyone else. Let's stay original!

AN EARTH-SHATTERING FAR

I just finished reading this article and in my opinion it relates so much to this recent presidential election. It talks about how if we get rid of one thing from a specie we end with all of the rest. This connects to what Trump wants to do with the Muslims, Mexicans and other immigrants. If he decides to get rid of all immigrants he will end with everything that they do. Who will harvest then peoples crops! There'll be no people to harvest them, which means that the farmers will loose a lot of money. Getting rid of certain people can damage everything else that surrounds it. That's how his article relates to what is happening in this world right now.

MY EMERSON

For my Emerson project I will be bringing 2 eggs. I will be doing this presentation with my friends Ale Llamas. We thought that bringing a hard boiled and uncooked egg would represent Emerson main idea in a unique way. Both eggs will represent persons in society. The uncooked egg will be representing how a person can break all of a sudden if we put a lot of pressure on them. The hard boiled egg will be repsenting how if a person is not put into much pressure on how to be self reliant, then it'll come out as a beautiful result besucase it'll be opening itself to the wold piece by piece.

EMERSON FOR THE YOUNG BUCK

I have learned so many things from Emerson these past few days. Not only about his essay but also the way he thinks. He lets us know in many ways that we should trust in ourselves. We shouldn't be afraid to say what we want. Our voices/opinions matter in this world. No matter how absurd a comment might sound like, it's still very important to say. Everyone in this world is different, nobody is the same. Us being different makes our way of thinking different. Also, how we should rely on others to manage our lives for us. We shouldn't let others tell us what to do because we're smart enough to guide ourselves through this journey, which is called "life."

Tuesday, November 1, 2016

EMERSON SAID IT

1. "Nothing can bring you peace but yourself"
-In my opinion, I feel like this quote means that we can live our lives the way we want. We can't live peacefully in this world if we don't put something of us in it. Our future results basically depends on the way we decide to live it and what actions to take. In other words, we make our lives what we want it to be by making our own choices.
          - I think this was brought up in the conversation today because we were talking about how we can't let others manage our lives by making decisions for us.

2. "Every heart vibrates to that iron string"
          - I think this quote means that every person is different in this world. Not everyone is the same in this world. Like Paloma said earlier, she thinks of it how a guitar has different strings and they all make a different sound. We can all be defined as a string of a guitar because we all do different things and don't sound the same, either by the way we speak, think or act. Each guitar string plays a different note, either by being natural, sharp or flat. That's the beauty of life
          - I think this was brought up due to the same reason as the rest of the quotes. Everyone is society is different and has the right to prove it.

3. "Man is timid and apologetic; he is no longer upright; he dares not say 'I think,' but quotes some saint or sage"
          - I think this means that a person is timid/ shy to speak up for themselves. Some people don't like to say their opinions due to the fact that they're scared of what others might say or think. Society know-a-days don't have the courage to say their own opinion.
          - This was brought up because we talking about how some don't really speak up for themselves and are letting others manage their lives.

4. "Men have looked away from themselves and at things so long that they have come to esteem to religious, learned, and civil institutions as guards of property, and they deprecate assaults on these, because they feel them to be assaults on property"
          - This quote basically means that we take things for granted. Sometimes we look at things so closely that we don't realize how important they really are of their main purpose until it's too late. We tend to push those important things away not knowing how valuable they are.
          - This was brought up because of the same reason as the rest, we don't notice all the beautiful things in life because of how we let others control our lives.

5. "Nothing can bring you peace, but the triumph of principles"
          - This means that nothing can bring you peace other than yourself and the victory of your own behavior. It's similar to the first quote from all five. The results to our lives our the actions we decide to take.
          - This was brought up because they were saying how we sometimes let others control our lives which is why we live it the way we do right now. We don't let ourselves fly free without bumping into an obstacle.

AUTHOR IN PROGRESS

Due to my Emerson's writing I feel like I can really improve my way of writing from what I wrote Thursday. I think I would've done better if I would've read the article to the very end and had some ideas ready in my head. If I would've read the whole essay, I would have felt more prepared and know what to write. Other than that, I felt good about it. In my opinion, I think I did fair for my first actual "test."

MY AMERICAN VOICE

Earlier today, I wrote this in my journal.....

In my opinion, I think speaking up is right when someone is saying something wrong or insulting others. I don't like when people talk bad about others, especially when it's not true stuff. That's when I usually speak up the most than other occasions. I feel that it's my responsibility to stand up for others when the rest don't. I know I don't have but I still do. I usually speak up when I see someone taking out their temper, but I always think before I speak. I want to know what to say, and the right words that person should hear. The right words always help a person think differently about stuff. It's the magic of words.......🙌 The only times I will usually not speak up or mention anything about it, is when a person is cheating on their girlfriend/boyfriend. If mention anything about it.......I feel like I would hurt that person. Something about me, is that I don't like hurting others. That's something I would never do, that's is just not me.....🙂 Words can be kind, harsh, mean, etc.... it all depends what you say and when you say it.

I usually have authentic conversations with people when I know they really need at that time. I have them usually when a person is feeling down or just needs someone to give them advice, when I speak the words I say always come from my heart because I really mean it! Something about me that I really like is that I love making others happy by doing what I do every single day...... being myself.

I can say that I don't really have patience for many things but I do when it comes to talking to people. I can be the most patient person when it comes to listening and talking to others. I hate it when others don't listen to what I have to say. Or when I'm talking and they just start talking about something else or totally ignore by looking at their phone and not listening to what I'm saying. Since I don't like it when they do that to me then why would I do it to other people? I treat others the way I want to be treated in return.

When 2 or more persons are arguing and they ask for my opinion or who I agree with....... I always say, "neither!" I avoid taking sides when they bring me into an argument. The reason is because I don't want to have any enemies and to not really be involved between the whole argument. It's probably the best choice to make instead of saying your opinion towards a person or agreeing also. This situation is when you have to think before you speak. If you say the wrong thing then there goes yourself...... bringing yourself into the argument.

MEMORIES..........

Everyday I wish I can go back in time to see my best friend one more time, but I know it's impossible. Impossible in life, but not in dreams.....💭 An animal can sometimes understand you and listen better than a human being can.......

TEAM VOCAB

This presidential election has transformed into a battle, with venomous attacks from both aggravating parties. Hillary has remained stolid, and I personally wanna punch Trump in the proboscis. His supporters have slowly dissolved and the ones who have remained are hypnotized into believing America will be great again. This is a melancholy moment in American history because soon one of these candidates will be president. I earnestly believe that neither candidate should be eligible for office.

LITERATURE ANALYSIS #2

1.       Plot-

The novel starts of by Nicolette Antonovich getting asked by "Rascal" to attend his prom. She paid her best friend's older brother to drive her around to find the perfect dress. Yet two days before the big date, Rascal cancelled saying he’s going with his off-and-on girlfriend who just moved back from Arizona. That was just the great way for Nic to end her sophomore year *I'm being sarcastic*. But she had the whole summer to cool down and plan out how her junior year is going to start off as. She still loves Rascal even for what he did to her. She loved the wrong guy throughout the whole novel until she realizes that the right boy for her life is her friend’s older brother, Jared.

2.       Theme-

The theme of the book is to never let anything bring you down no matter how bad the situation was, even if the only easy thing you can do is to give up. The theme is seen in the novel when Rascal doesn’t take Nic to his prom because his girlfriend decides to come back. Nic experiences the theme of the novel in many parts of the novel. The bank is trying to foreclose on her home from which she has lived in since she was a child. Her father doesn’t help her nor her mother with that situation because he’s too busy with his “replacement daughter” like Nic says for him to care about what they’re going through. She might get kicked off the volleyball team just because of a false rumor that’s going around team. If she gets kicked off the volleyball team which will ruins all her chances of getting a college scholarship.

3.       The Author’s Morning Routine-

I feel like the author gets up early in the morning every day to get her day started just right. She seems like a person who would go to sleep early to get the right amount of hours of sleep. I imagine her doing yoga after eating a light breakfast, maybe like some fruit or something plain like a bagel, along with some coffee or an orange juice. I imagine her doing this due to the way she writes and how she expresses herself with the protagonist which is “Nic” in the novel.

4.       Diction

Diction- The diction of this book is probably informal. Informal because it's written in a way how you would communicate with your friends or something like that. The book is written mostly for teens.

TODAY I'M A GOOD HUMAN

Today I feel like a good human being because I've helped out my group members with their jobs in our group project that is due on Tuesday. I helped my group memeber ,the writer, by outlining the essay she's supposed to do. I started her off with the intro and gave her the 3 topics she's going to write about in the 3 body paragraphs. Not only did I give her the 3 topics but also 2 details/facts for each topic. I literally did her whole essay for her she just needs to add her opinions and more details. I helped my other group member (diplomatic engineer) by giving her all the events from American History for all the demands she was assigned. I feel like that had made me a good human being today🙃😄
Also..... I gave a friend (who I just met)  a birthday gift for his birthday when I could've not given him anything.

MENTOR LETTER DRAFT 1

Dear mentor,
All I want from you is your your answer to my big question. If you can give me an exact answer it's okay, as long as I have your opinion towards it is more than enough. My big question might seem like a question that already had an answer to it and I know it does. There's answers to my big question out there but I want to know what the deep meaning of it. Getting an answer is what I want, but not really. I want more of an opinion towards it. What others think about or if they really believe that there's an answer to it. Hopefully we have a good time figuring and listening to each other.

                                 Sincerely,
                                                               Rosie Diaz

ESSAY 1 REVISED

After reading my colleagues' work and sharing ideas, I realized I could improve my first essay by not adding a closing sentence on my introduction, to save it for my conclusion. Also, explain my opinion/ ideas better. Give a better explanation to what I'm trying to say to my reader. I feel like I need to add something more but I just can't think about it at the moment. By the way, there might not be as much changes or any at all from my first essay because I already made them on my first post. I can sort of say that I'm proud of the result but I feel like I'm missing something. Hope you enjoy reading it!!🙂

Many might agree with E.M. Forster when he stated that personal relations are more important than causes or patriotism. What do you personally think about this? Are personal relations really more important than patriotism, or is it the opposite? I personally think that personal relations are more important than patriotism, here’s why. Patriotism means “love that people feel for their country,” as the Merriam Webster dictionary says. As you can see there, patriotism is just the love towards your country, which to me doesn’t seem that important. Now, personal relations are “close connections between people, formed by emotional bonds and interactions,” as the online dictionary says. This seems to grab more my attention, due to the fact that is mentions “connections between people.” Now to answer the question, Agree or disagree with E.M. Forster's view that personal relations are more important than causes or patriotism? I would say that I do agree with E.M. Foster’s statement. I do agree that personal relations are more important than patriotism because it’s something that most of us humans have in common and can connect with. With personal relations we bond, love one another, connect, and many more with family, friends, and partners. When in patriotism you can only share your facts and/or affection towards your country.

To begin with, you can see personal relations between family, like mostly every day. Personal relations are seen in families when they express their love towards one another. As many might know, some families don’t even show love, but there are other ways that they show personal relations. For example, when a family is bonding in any way, no matter how but them being together and them spending time as a family, in a positive way of course. You can’t really see patriotism in families, unless they love talking about their love towards their country, which I don’t think they do, maybe. With personal relation a family comes together as one person. In less words, personal relation is like the pillar that holds the family together, in my own personal opinion. It can also be seen between friends. Friends bond with each other mostly every day, they come together to appreciate that they have each other. Personal opinions can also be seen between partners. Partners build up affection and love, which shows how personal relations takes place. Personal relation is seen and experienced by others every day, no matter the occasion.

Next, patriotism is quite different from personal relations as I mentioned before. I would consider myself not much of a patriotic person. You may wonder why, so here’s why. I know that patriotism comes around when people celebrate a holiday from their country. For example, in America most of the people celebrate the 4th of July big. That’s the time of the year when everyone shows patriotism, their love towards their own country of whom they are proud of. Patriotism isn’t really something of much meaning, people might not even know much about their country. There might be some persons out there in the world that show patriotism in a daily basis, not just by saying the Pledge of Allegiance but in a different way. We all show patriotism everyday but it’s probably only once per day, maybe even just for 5 minutes, that is when we say the Pledge of Allegiance. Many don’t know the main facts about the United States, which isn’t bad.

Lastly, patriotism and personal relations might have different definitions to them, but they have some things in common. They share the fact that they both bring persons together as one. It can bring them together either by discussing how they feel about something or how they feel towards each other. They don’t have many similarities, but I’ll try my best to say most. They provide communication towards persons and their family, friends, and/or partner. They both also show love towards something. People can bond with each other, some people love talking about their love for their country and no, it’s not weird it’s called being different. It’s like me just talking about my love for agriculture every day, which I kind of do. Anyways, those are all the similarities that I could think of.

Clearly, I agree with E.M. Forster's view that personal relations are more important than causes or patriotism. Personal relations show more affection between people and can share more facts towards basically anything. Even though both show love towards something personal relation would still be my choice. Expressing yourself in such a way towards something besides a country might be hard with patriotism. I know I already stated my opinion to what I think is more important, but that doesn’t mean that other think the same as me. Every single person has different opinion towards things and also a different way of thinking. To connect with the title, hugs come in helpful no matter the occasion. We all need them once in a while, or even if we don’t need them we still get at least one. Hugs helps you stay connected and close to the people you care about!

MISTAKES FOR PRESIDENT

Well............ I am now watching the Presidential Debate and in my opinion I think it's getting really intense after something is said by either Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump. I know there's a lot of logical fallacies in this debate but here are the ones I caught.....

-Hillary says that Donald never says what he's going to do, if he decided to bomb a country it'll be a surprise. She says how we have to be precise about when they talk about those kind of issues.

Donald Trump's words towards Clinton
-She has no business ability, she claimed to have great power when she doesn't
-she doesn't have the look, stamina
-tremendous stamina to be president of the U.S.
-be able to negotiate with japan
-precise about they talk about those issues
-she has bad experience
-the U.S. cant handle another 4 years of bad experience

Hillary Clinton's words towards Trump
pregnancy is an inconvenient to employers
women in a beauty contest, called women a piggy and a housekeeper because she is a Latina

Hillary's words
-she supports democracy, sometimes you win sometimes you loose
-the election is about us, our family not much about them
the future depends on the people

Donald's Trump's words
-a nation that is in trouble

Extra Facts-
-Donald Trump blamed 9/11 on George W. Bush

SOMETIMES MY MIND

I sometimes think if life would be different without social media, or even phones. How will the world act towards each other and stuff if they didn't have the tendency to be using their phones every once in a while.

LITERARURE ANALYSIS RESPONSE

"Top Ten Uses  for an Unworn Prom Dress"
By Tina Ferraro

Theme- The theme of the book is to never let anything bring you down no matter how bad the situation was even if the only easy thing you can do is to give up.

Tone- The tone of the movie is sarcastic and cheerful. Sarcastic because the author expresses herself by being humorous but serious at the same time.

Plot- Nicolette Antonovich got asked by "Rascal" to attend his prom.

Diction- The diction of this book is probably informal. Informal because it's written in a way how you would communicate with your friends or something like that. The book is written mostly for teens.

Syntax- I'm not sure how the author uses syntax in this book, but I'll soon post it. Haven't read the whole book yet.

Characterization- The only characters I have gotten to read about is Nicolette Antonovich, which is the main character of the novel. Rascal Pasqual, the guy who cancelled the date to prom with Nicolette. The last one is Nic's mom.

READING ANALYSIS BOOK #2

I am currently reading, "Top Ten Uses for an Unworn Prom Dress" by Tina Ferraro

MY YODA

Hmmm.... my mentor? I don't know exactly who my "mentor" is right now or who will be in the future. All I know is that my mentor will be someone who doesn't know the answer to my big question, but someone who imagines the same thing I do as to finding the answer to my Big Question/s. In my opinion, I think that just having a mentor to give you the answer to your Big Question isn't fun at all or worth it. Getting the answer won't make you sauisfied at the end. Yeah, you'll have the answer but you won't feel accomplished due to the fact that the answer didn't come from you. So yeah...... that's my description of my mentor/s. 😄

BIG QUESTION DISCIPLINE/S

My big question earlier this school year was, "what happens after we die?" I still haven't really found my answer to that and I don't really want to but at the same time I do. Many articles say that when we die we go off to heaven or that our spirits remain on earth while our bodies are gone. Some mention that we can either go to hell, earth, heaven or liberation.

I'M HAVING THE TIME OF MY LIFE

I wish I can be having the time of my life right now but instead of doing "homework" that has to be finished by tomorrow. All this homework is stressing me out that I can't even enjoy my life right now. All that goes through my mind is "school, work, homework, due dates, etc." I don't have time to think of myself or the people around me. I'm too focused on assignments that, I don't really pay attention to what's really going on in this world. The only time I get to enjoy my life is Saturday and not much of Sunday. Oh gosh! I can't wait for winter break!! I need a break from school already.
