"A Modest Proposal" Response

"A Modest Proposal" meets the criteria of satire because of all the examples it uses to compare children to. For example, when he says that children are used to feed people. Children are not used to feed people but he just makes us see it that way to explain to us what's going on with children these days. Too many are produced in less than a year from mothers who simply don't care about them, some. Swift's use of dictation, syntax, and tone effectively conveys this message by exaggerating on how children are being abandoned by their parents, simply because they don't care about them. Like I said earlier, he compares them to animals. It makes us see how things really are serious.
