MUSIC AS LITERATURE

Novel- a fictitious prose narrative of book length, typically representing character and action with some degree of realism
Poem-  piece of writing that partakes of the nature of both speech and song that is nearly always rhythmical, usually metaphorical, and often exhibits such formal elements as meter, rhyme, and stanzaic structure
Rap- a type of popular music of US black origin in which words are recited rapidly and rhythmically over a prerecorded, typically electronic instrumental backing.
Song- a short poem or other set of words set to music or meant to be sung.
Opera- a dramatic work in one or more acts, set to music for singers and instrumentalists
Symphony- an orchestral interlude in a large-scale vocal work

Is music really considered literature?

In my opinion, I think music would be considered literature for the following reasons. Music is considered as poetry, and poetry is considered literature. Just as literature has its tone, syntax, mood, etc... music does too. Music explains its tone and mood by crescendos, sphorsandos, decrescendos, staccatos, legatos, tunutos, etc..

To be continued........ :)
